The Hose Bag
How many times have you been to a 4wd or caravanning show and been tempted by those smaller stalls selling seemingly useful items like special can openers or vacuum sealing storage tubs or other such items? If you’re like us, some suck you in and you end up spending money on something that turns out to be a dud, or you walk away only to find that the items was actually of some use? Well….we’re going to look at one particular product we purchased at one of these stalls that has turned out to be a worthwhile investment.
The Hose Bag is simply that….a bag for storing a hose, but that only tells part of the story. These bags are an extremely convenient way to manage all your drinking hoses.
Hoses are generally pretty cumbersome and can be awkward to pack up and store in your van or camper. They never seem to stay rolled up without some form of restraint and they are prone to damage if you store them with other items. The Hose Bag solves these problems. The bag itself is made from durable materials that are open weave so moisture build up and mould will not be an issue. It also helps protect the hose from damage.
Putting the hose into the bag seems difficult at first but once you get the hang of the process, its dead easy. In effect you shove the hose into the bag in a manner that it naturally coils inside expanding to the space within the bag itself. As you put the hose away, any excess water is expelled through the end so no unexpected puddles in your storage area.
Once the hose is stored in the bag, depending on the length of the hose, there may be space left over for adding other items. Removing the hose is simply a reverse of the storage process. Hoses come out without any kinks or bends.
You can buy the Hose Bags direct for between $25 and $30 each but if you wait for a show, they usually have a special offer.
We really like the Hose Bags and give them a 4 Westie rating.
